Robbery

At 11:55 P.M. on December 29, 2015, Paris Police received a call of a robbery at 2610 N Main St. [expand title=”click here for more details”]
The clerk at the convenience store advised officers that she observed an unknown white female in her mid 20’s come into the store and conceal merchandise into the waistband of her pants. The female then came to the counter and attempted to paid for other merchandise. The suspect did not have enough cash on her and advised that she would get the rest of the money from her car. When the suspect came back into the store, she no longer had the concealed merchandise on her. The clerk refused to finish the transaction and advised the suspect that she needed to return the stolen merchandise. The suspect then walked behind the counter and pushed the clerk and grabbed the bought merchandise while throwing the rest of the money for the transaction onto the counter. The suspect got into the passenger seat of a grey Buick Regal and fled the scene. Officers were not able to locate the suspect. The clerk was not injured during the incident.

Burglary of Residence

At 4:00 P.M. on December 26, 2015, Paris Police responded to a burglary of a residence in the 2300 block of W Sherman St. [expand title=”click here for more details”]
It was reported that the residents arrived at the house upon returning from a vacation and found that their house had been burglarized and a vehicle had been stolen from the garage. The report states that several items, including at least two firearms, were taken along with a television and several pieces of jewelry. A gray 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis was taken from the garage.

Burglary  UPDATED

Lamar County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s help in solving a burglary at Lamar Point on November 25. Items missing were silver coins, shotgun, rifles, and a revolver. [expand title=”click here for more details”]
At the unoccupied home near Lamar Point, the back door had been kicked in.  A Remington 870 12 gauge shotgun, a Marlin 336 30/30 rifle, an AR-15 5.56 caliber rifle and a Smith & Wesson .357 revolver were stolen, as well as several silver rounds, which are distinctive collectable coins. Investigators stated, “There’s a male out selling these coins on the street. The coins include: 195 1/2-ounce “Legalize It” silver rounds; 40 1-ounce “John Galt” silver rounds; and 21 1-ounce “Lakota” silver rounds. These things are brand new and bright silver,” according to investigators.

Hit & Run

Paris Police are searching for a 1994 blue Chevrolet Cavalier bearing Utah plate D737MR. The vehicle was involved in a hit and run accident [expand title=”click here for more details”]
at 8:04 A.M. on December 15, 2015. The driver of the struck vehicle advised officers that the Cavalier struck their vehicle from behind and both drivers exchanged some information. When the driver of the struck vehicle advised that they were calling the police, the driver of the Cavalier re-entered his vehicle and drove away in a hurry. The driver that fled the scene was described as a white male in his early 30’s. The driver and one passenger of the struck vehicle sought medical treatment for minor injuries.

Agape Pharmacy Break In

 12-15-2015

Paris Police responded to a burglar alarm at the Agape Pharmacy at 1021 S Collegiate Dr. at 6:44 A.M. on December 14, 2015. Officers observed a ceiling tile out of place and upon gaining access to the roof, found that someone had cut two holes in the roof to gain access to the inside of the building. An inventory is being conducted to determine what merchandise or narcotics are missing. At this time, there are no suspects in the case. A 1994 blue Chevrolet C3500 4-door pick-up was stolen from a building in the 1800 block of W Center St sometime in the last 7 days. [expand title=”click here for more details”]
The owner advised that he had been out of town and just returned and found that someone had cut the chain from the gate leading to the property along with a lock to the building that housed the vehicle.

Man Shot

A 24 year old Paris man was shot multiple times in the 500 block of Tudor St sometime around 3:00 A.M. on December 13, 2015. [expand title=”click here for more details”]
The victim was transported to the hospital via a private vehicle. The victim told officers that he did not know who had shot him. Officers located several shell casings that were collected and placed into evidence. The victim was admitted to the hospital for surgery to remove a bullet.

Someone stole a custom Cobalt motorcycle trailer and other items from a carport in the 1900 block of Culbertson Street sometime between 7 P.M. on December 9th [expand title=”click here for more details”]
and 4:30 P.M. on December 10th.

The trailer is described as being 4’X6’, blue in color, with new LED lights, black frame, 8″ wheels and tires, a cargo rack on the front, and the number 457 inscribed on the tongue. The trailer is valued at $2,000.

A green 1995 GMC Sierra pick-up was stolen sometime between 7:00 P.M. on December 3rd and 7:00 A.M. on December 4th, 2015 from the 2400 block of Simpson Street.[expand title=”click here for more details”]

The owner stated that there were 4 – 22″chrome blade rims in the bed of the truck at the time of the theft. The owner advised that there is a Trinity Valley sticker on the back window.

Reno Buggy Bath

November 25, 2015

On Saturday night November 22nd, 2015, between the hours of 10:00pm and 11:00pm, someone broke into the vacuums at the Reno Buggy Bath. The pictures show someone pulling up to the vacuums driving a dark colored, possibly maroon with silver or grey two tone, late model Ford Expedition. The suspect or suspects then vandalized the vacuums and removed the money.

Suspect in the pictures appears to be wearing blue jeans and a grey hoodie, was of average build, and possibly a male.

Stolen Vehicle

November 20, 2015

A 2005 gold Chevrolet Cavalier was taken [expand title=”click here for more details”] from a driveway in the 2200 block of W Sherman St at 12:30 P.M. on November 19, 2015. The owner stated that they heard the vehicle being started but by the time that they could get outside, the vehicle was already gone. The vehicle is described as having damage to the back left quarter panel and the back window is missing from the back drivers side door.

Theft of Tractor

November 13, 2015

Sometime between 8:00 P.M. on November 10th, 2015 and 10:00 A.M. on November 11th, 2015, someone removed a model 5203 4X4 John Deere tractor [expand title=”click here for more details”] from a barn on FM 38 North in Sumner, Texas. The tractor was green in color and was equipped with a John Deere front end loader. The tractor is valued at over $27,000.

Robbery at Movie Theater

November 9, 2015

Paris Police responded to a robbery at Movies 8 [expand title=”click here for more details”] at 8:03 P.M. on November 8, 2015. A white male wearing a brown jacket and a pair of panty hose over his face came in to the theatre, brandished a silver handgun, and demanded money from the register. Three attendants were on duty at the time of the robbery and all described the suspect as a white male between the ages of 40 and 50, approximately 6’00″ tall and weighing approximately 200 pounds. Once the suspect received the money, he fled westbound on foot. Officers canvassed the area but could not locate the suspect. It is unknown how much money the suspect fled with. No one was injured in the incident.

Stolen Fire Hydrant

A new fire hydrant was being installed at the corner of NE 8th and Ash [expand title=”click here for more details”] St on October 12, 2015. The new hydrant was bolted into place but the hole around the hydrant had not been filled in. Sometime between 5 P.M. on October 12th and 8 A.M. on October 13th, 2015, someone unbolted and stole the hydrant. The hydrant is valued at $2,500. Toco Mart Burglary

October 8, 2015

The Toco Mart Store on Highway 82 west of Paris, [expand title=”click here for more details”] reported $5,100 was stolen sometime after closing on Friday night, according to the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office.

The cash was taken from the building overnight, and deputies were notified and responded to the incident Saturday.

MISSING AIR COMPRESSOR

October 7, 2015

An Inglo Industrial air compressor was reported stolen [expand title=”click here for more details”] from a construction site in the 4200 block of Bonham St at 10:08 A.M. on October 6, 2015. The owner advised that the compressor was last seen on October 5, 2015 on a flatbed trailer that was parked on the site. The lock on the chain that connected it to the trailer had been cut. The compressor was yellow in color with duel tanks and had a gas motor. It is valued at $4,000.
